BARTON RETREAT

Barton Retreat is a 3 bedroom home set on a half-acre waterfront reserve block surrounded by lovely gardens and native trees, with great open spaces for badminton, volleyball or a bit of cricket. At the right time of the year, you can even pick fresh berries from our garden for your breakfast, after your walk on the foreshore.

The Main House

The main house has been extended in recent years, and is a beautiful blend of Tasmanian timbers and feature leadlight windows. In the lounge room, there is a timber cathedral ceiling with wall-to-wall windows to take advantage of the lovely view down to the water, and a wood-burning heater to warm those winter evenings. The large renovated bathroom has leadlight features, a large shower and a spa bath, and a separate toilet. The timber kitchen is fully equipped, including a microwave, large refrigerator and dishwasher. Leadlight windows, a queen-size bed and lovely views of the garden are features of the main bedroom. Each of the other two bedrooms sleeps two people. The dining area seats eight, and there is a large laundry room with washer and dryer, freezer, ironing board and iron, and indoor hanging space.

The Bunk House

One of the special features of Barton Retreat is the "bunkhouse", or kids retreat. Only steps from the main house, this separate guest house is furnished with a futon, TV, DVD player and board games where the kids can gather while the grownups play their own music, or watch the news, in peace and relative quiet in the main house (well, that’s the theory at least!). It can also be used as a separate bedroom that sleeps two.
